About The Academy
Diplomatic Academy Nepal
"Where Policy, Technology, and Diplomacy Converge"
The Diplomatic Academy Nepal (DAN) is a professional training and academic institution dedicated to professional excellence in international relations and diplomacy. We provide a rigorous learning environment that merges traditional statecraft with modern, tech-forward solutions and combines academic rigour with cross-cultural exchange. By offering a neutral, and independent platform, we empower participants from diverse national, international, professional, and cultural backgrounds to master the intricacies of global diplomacy and governance.
Our mission is to advance Diplomacy through Education. A cornerstone of our academic identity is the integration of Diplo-Tech—the critical intersection of technology and diplomacy. This progressive approach distinguishes DAN as a forward-thinking hub, equipping the next generation of global leaders with the essential tools to navigate an increasingly digital international landscape. By combining academic rigour with practical technical literacy, the Academy ensures that its participants are prepared to lead in a world where emerging technologies and diplomatic strategy are permanently intertwined.

Why Nepal?
Situated in a nation historically committed to non-alignment and multilateralism, the Academy offers a unique vantage point for studying international relations and diplomacy. We use Nepal’s foreign policy principles—such as peaceful coexistence and neutrality—as analytical reference points, providing participants with a perspective that is both locally grounded and globally relevant
The Academy’s strategic location provides a serene, culturally distinct backdrop that adds a unique dimension to professional study. By welcoming a diverse cohort of international scholars, we create an environment that embodies the very principles of cooperation we teach. Here, participants can analyze the complexities of global diplomacy within a landscape that reflects a long-standing tradition of diplomatic harmony.
Diplomacy and Leadership
The Academy is guided by a Governing Board and Academic Council composed of senior diplomats, scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and international relations experts. Leadership structures emphasize academic independence, institutional integrity, and international credibility.
Institutional Context
The Academy operates within a family of three complementary institutions: Ambassadors Club Nepal, which facilities dialogue among diplomatic missions, policymakers, and international partners; International Relations and Global Diplomacy Dialogue (IRGDD), a policy oriented think tank focused on research, dialogue, and global affairs; The Diplomat Nepal, a pioneering diplomatic magazine concerning Nepal, the region, and the world, further informing public discourse and analysis.
Together, these institutions provide an integrated ecosystem linking education, policy research, diplomatic engagement, and public diplomacy.
Strategic Orientation
The Academy is neutral, independent, and non-partisan. It does not advocate political positions or national agendas. Its academic and training programs emphasize professional standards, comparative perspectives, and international best practices, while using Nepal’s foreign policy principles such as peaceful coexistence, multilateralism, and respect for international law, as analytical reference points rather than ideological positions.
